Murphy's Eats & Treats | Our Story

Started Small. Stayed Real.

The idea was simple: serve fresh food cooked to order, offer the best ice cream around, and build a team that is committed to making every customer's visit special. By staying true to these goals, success will follow.
How It Started in Ashland

How It Started in Ashland

Murphy's opened in 2018 in Ashland, Massachusetts, with one simple idea: serve fresh, honestly made food that doesn't need a waterfront view to stand out. No gimmicks—just a kitchen that's passionate about quality seafood, delicious comfort food, and serving the community with pride. From day one, our goal has been to create a welcoming place where friends and families can gather to enjoy great meals and some of the best ice cream around.
The Food That Built a Following

The Food That Built a Following

While our roast beef earned Murphy's a spot on Boston Uncovered's list of the 15 Best Roast Beef Sandwiches in Massachusetts, our commitment to serving only premium seafood from Captain Marden's has helped our fried seafood build a loyal following of its own. Customers regularly drive past other restaurants just to enjoy their Murphy's favorites—and we couldn't be more grateful.
About Those Onion Rings

About Those Onion Rings

Nobody sets out to become famous for a side dish—but somehow, our Onion Rings steal the show. Sliced daily, lightly battered, crispy, golden, and impossible to resist. Order them once, and you'll understand why.
The Treats Half of the Deal

The Treats Half of the Deal

From classic banana splits and hand-dipped scoops to towering sundaes, our ice cream is what turns a visit to Murphy's into a complete experience. Families come for the fresh seafood and stay to enjoy one of the best desserts around making memories one scoop at a time.

The Little Things

What are the little things? We cup our ketchup, no tearing little packets here! We make our own coleslaw and cup it on site, no bagged product for us! We have always served Pauline's homemade tartar sauce and we still do, every batch is made by Christine Robinson!
